These cards must be the same mana type as the commander’s with the exception of colorless mana, such as artifact cards, though again only one of each card can be added.
Only one copy of each card, aside from basic mana, also known as "land" cards, can be added to the deck, unlike the limit of four in Standard format. As part of the theme, a commander deck is built around a singular legendary creature or planeswalker whose card says it can be a commander and its mana type.
